Springfest mission statement
Springfest Garden Show is dedicated to the promotion of horticulture, environmental stewardship and educational activities through the yearly presentation of an inspiring and creative garden, flower and landscape show.

Proceeds provide support to fund improvements and maintenance to the agricultural facilities at the Sussex County Fairgrounds and related educational activities.

Volunteer Opportunities
Do you love Horticulture? How about becoming a friend of Springfest! The Springfest Garden show committee works year round to produce the show and offer programs for the community. Volunteers are needed to get actively involved in many facets of our planning and behind the scenes preparation. Volunteering with Springfest is a wonderful opportunity to make new friends and to be connected with a worthwhile community event. For more information contact Springfest at 973-948-9448.

MASTER GARDENERS
The Master Gardeners of Sussex County have helped Springfest tremendously for many years. The Sussex County Master Gardener program is a horticultural education and outreach organization administered by Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Sussex County.

The Sussex County program is one of nineteen Master Gardener county organizations within the state of New Jersey. Over 230 volunteers have been trained through the Sussex County Master Gardener program in all aspects of home gardening. Sussex County Master Gardeners have donated over 30,000 hours of volunteer service in community gardens, public beautification, school gardens, horticultural therapy projects with seniors, a Home Horticulture Telephone Helpline and public events like the Springfest Garden Show.

Individuals who wish to receive Master Gardener training and participate in their local program should contact the Rutgers Cooperative Extension office in their county. Contact information for Cooperative Extension offices and more information about the New Jersey Master Gardeners can be located at the Cooperative Extension website njaes.rutgers.edu. Sussex County residents can contact Rutgers Cooperative Extension at 973-948-3040. If you are interested in Master Gardener training in your own area contact your local county extension office.
